We stopped early for the night just before Albuquerque in Santa Rosa, NM. I had found a state park on a lake but we didn’t trust that you could roll in at any hour and get a campsite. Well this place was great for over-landers!! Not only were there plenty of no reservation sites, but it was self check in and pay box so they were literally open 24hrs!! It was also a gorgeous rocky ridge above a lake with very little “campground” to interfere with the scenery.
We set up camp in mere minutes and got a short hike in along the shoreline of the lake before dinner! We tried out the GoPro on hikes— not posting those here just yet we are working out what makes good “tv”.
Dinner was SO good!!We made a big pot of quinoa, lentils, peppers and corn - sprinkle of nooch and drizzle of hot sauce YUMMY 😋
The low got down to 48 or so but we were toasty and got up early in the cool morningto enjoy some of the best coffee ever!!
