Today was all new territory and some of the first true over-landing of the trip. This post is picture heavy and you all know there are about 50 more than what I am posting here. I am SO happy that we finally got some 🏜sightseeing, ⛺️camping and 🥾🎒hiking in today and DELIGHTED that Todd and I may have finally found a “hobby” that we share.
Not only we totally comfortable and “at home” in our surroundings today but we shared my shutterbug love!! Todd has been manning the Go Pro while I have snap shots with my DSLR and Phone camera.
So far we have to say that Texas WINS the best rest stops award!!
We stopped outside of Amarillo to see the “little Grand Canyon”and it was an interesting mix of green and orange- different than the Utah canyons we have seen and still just as beautiful.
They even offered free sunscreen!
The drive is both peaceful and gorgeous and we literally see Antelope in fields on the side of the road.Now onward on Route 66!
